I have a confession to make.
My name is Kimberly Vensel and I'm addicted to sunbursts.
Whew! It felt good to get that off my chest. :)
Seriously though ... ever since I figured out how to get a decent sunburst photo, I can't stop trying to get more!
Here's the first one I did back in July ...
I was so excited to finally get a good one where the sun didn't look like a big blob. :)
And here are some of the ones I've gotten since ...
Collage template found here.
These were all taken over the past few months. The big leaf photo was taken just last week.
And here are a few that were taken over the past few days.
Rainbow! :)
I loved how the light was filtering through the trees onto these dying ferns.
Photo of the Day - October 17 - ISO 400, f/22, 1/100s, 18-105mm lens on Nikon D40
The last three were actually taken this morning while Alex and I were walking on the bike trail.
I realize that not all of them are "perfect", but they still make me happy. And I can't help myself.
Do you think I need professional help? I'm not sure they have a name for what I have. :)

Wow, the sun flare, on the drop of rain, on the blade of grass - that one has my attention. Stunning!
Amazing!! Teach me!
Wow, I love that last one, Kim!
Gorgeous! You are great at capturing them! I was super exited when I finally learned as well! :)
Obsession or not...you rock! Love the last shot.
LOL!! Have to keep working to attain perfection, right?! Though I think you're awfully close... these are all wonderful!
beautiful use of sun flare!
Gorgeous captures, love the last on the most!
Late visiting from MYM, hope you can still visit the Mellow Yellow at my page when you get a chance.
You are obviously THE expert on sunbursts. So, when are you doing a tutorial? Or, maybe it's a secret?
I took a few too last week. They are a lot of fun even though I see spots for a while afterwards. :) That last shot is really cool.
Those are beautiful!!! So impressed w/ your pics!: )
Gorgeous light in these images!
Happy MM
Really great shots... would love to learn your technique!
Gorgeous photos! I have been trying to learn to capture sunburts. I guess it about time I get out and start trying. Thanks for the inspiration.
I don't think you need professional help. I think you need to help all of us by telling how you do it! Seriously. These are all beautiful.
After looking at these, I realize that I'm addicted to sunbursts, too!
(Thanks for helping me see the light...)
;)
isn't great when it all comes together and it works! sunburst are fun to create but sometimes I blind myself doing them!
Thanks for linking up over at Ordinary Inspirations (Capturing Beauty). I added your blog button to my photo blog page!
Love,
Traci
I'd have to say that the drop of rain shot is probably my favorite...
Well I can see why your "addicted" as these are just wonderful. My "fav" was the raindrop on the blade of grass.
