The Woodcarver DVD Review

The Woodcarver - DVD
Recently I was given the opportunity to review the movie, The Woodcarver - Restoring Their Faith in God and in Life, starring John Ratzenberger.

About the Movie:
Matthew Stevenson is a troubled kid from a broken home. When he vandalizes the local church to get back at his parents, Matthew has to repair the damage to the church to avoid criminal charges. While working at the church, he meets Ernest (John Ratzenberger), an accomplished wood carver who created the intricate woodwork decoration that Matthew destroyed. Ernest has become something of a hermit, but reluctantly comes out of reclusion to help repair the church. Now Ernest and Matthew must work together to preserve the church's beautiful antiquity, and along the way, they also manage to restore their faith in God and in life.

I thought John Ratzenberger did a very good job in his role in this movie.  The supporting actors worked well with him and each other.  It took me a few minutes to get past John's Disney connections as he is the voice of many, many Disney characters :) but I think he fit pretty well into this role.  Overall I thought this movie was very well done.  This is a great family-friendly movie that I'm sure we will watch over and over again.

If you'd like a chance to win your very own copy of this DVD, just leave a comment on this post.  I'll randomly draw a winner on Sunday, April 22.

Looking forward to a free showing at the local Christian bookstore. The reviews suggest that this may be a bit more interesting than the usual fare showing more tension (although some say the arguing parents is overdone)

Thanks for your review.
