Doug and Alex went grocery shopping Tuesday morning and brought back a bouquet of yellow roses for me. For no reason. Or maybe the reason is because they love me and they know how much I love flowers. :)

Yellow ... Edited
Welcome back to the Thursday edition of Shoot & Edit.
Today is the big reveal day ... when I show you what I did with my SOOC shots from Monday. But first, here are the two yellow SOOC shots I posted previously ...
Yellow daisies I had bought a couple weeks back. I, like many others, am really anxious for spring to arrive and the wonderful colors that go along with it. So I thought I'd get a little head start. :) Since these are now dead and helping to fertilize my flower beds, I bought another bouquet yesterday. You'll see those on Monday since next week's theme is flowers. I just love having fresh cut flowers in the house. So until I can go out and pick my own, I will buy some now and then.
Cedar Waxwings that Alex and I happened upon while walking through our neighbor's woods. We had just gotten 6 or so inches of snow the night before. Hard to believe that was just last Friday. Today it is about 60 degrees and gorgeous! The sun has shone most of the day and it just feels like spring! Yay!
And here are the edited versions ...
I did the usual editing in RAW. Then in Photoshop elements, I created an adjustment layer ... lowered the saturation and increased the lightness. I then used a layer mask to remove the lowered saturation from the lady bug since I didn't like how it looked. Slight cropping and sharpening and I was done. I really like the softer color of the flowers now.
For the Cedar Waxwings, I cropped some so the birds stood out more. Then did the basics with contrast and vibrancy. Nothing fancy at all.
And again, just for fun ... I came across this program called Lo-Fi where you can simply add different looks to your photos. I downloaded the trial version and played around with the flower photo a little.
For this photo I used Faded, Dreamy, Crumpled. Kind of cool. Lo-Fi is only $29 to purchase, so I might just buy it when my 7-day trial is up. It looks like fun.
That's it for me this week. I look forward to seeing what others did with their yellow photos!
Remember, next week's theme is FLOWERS. Until then, have a great week!
Oh, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Yellow
This week's Shoot & Edit challenge is Yellow.
(If you are unfamiliar with this challenge and would like to know more, go here.)
Here is my first Yellow SOOC shot.
I bought myself this bouquet of daisies a couple weeks back. They lasted about a week. I took many, many photos of them while they were here. :) I'm sooooo looking forward to seeing some spring flowers around here. But I'm afraid they are a few more weeks away.
And just for fun, here's another Yellow SOOC shot ...

And just for fun, here's another Yellow SOOC shot ...

These are Cedar Waxwings that Alex and I came across on our walk through the woods on Friday. We had gotten about 6 inches of snow overnight and school was delayed, so we decided to stay home and have some fun in the snow. I actually already have the edited version as my POTD for Friday on my Project 365 blog. But those of you that don't visit that blog will just have to wait until Thursday to see it. :)
Thanks for stopping by! See you back here on Thursday with my edits!
