Recently I was given the opportunity to review this great math learning set geared towards Preschoolers and Kindergartners.
Product Description
Carlito C. Caterpillar's MathHouse™ Game CardsBased on Domenico’s proprietary 20 Step Sensory Math Teaching SystemFeaturing two uniquely designed games to demonstrate each step (40 games in all)
The set contains
- 30 double-sided, full color, illustrated Game Cards
- Related editorial information explaining to parents The What, Why and How of Each Step
- Each 8" x 4" loose leaf card is printed on heavy card stock, lacquered to help protect from spills and ring bound to keep together and facilitate play
Alex and I were able to play a few of the games contained in these cards. They were easy to understand, which is definitely a plus for me, and Alex enjoyed playing them. He didn't even realize he was learning math. Those are the kinds of games we love to play.
Along with the game cards, you can download some additional tools for free on the c3pla website. Each card indicates if you need the downloaded manipulative aid, so there's no guesswork. Each game builds upon skills learned in the previous games and they gradually get more difficult. But they are set up in such a way that your child is learning math skills while having fun playing with Mom or Dad.
Alex and I are going to have lots of fun learning math with these fun cards!

Additionally, if you'd like a chance to win a set of these cards, just leave me a comment telling me what your favorite subject was in school. Were you a math guru, like my husband? Or was English more your style, like me? Or, like my son, Nicholas, did you look forward to lunch and recess? Ah, eight-year-old boys. :)
I'll randomly pick a winner on Saturday, October 22, and announce it here on my blog.
Thank you and good luck!

My favorite class...was orchestra! I was an orchestra nerd all the way!
Randi is just learning how to add and subtract and is constantly asking me to quiz her or wants to play math games on the computer, so I'd love to learn more about these cards. They sound like a great way for both Mom and kid to learn while having fun...now that's my kind of math!
