Scavenger Hunt Sunday 5.15.11

Wow!  Did I really go a whole week without posting anything here?  Well, we had gorgeous weather earlier in the week, so we spent a lot of it outdoors.  (I did manage to post my photo of the day over at my Project 365 blog).  Then Keira and I both got sick with strep throat, so we've been taking it easy, trying to get healthy again.  I wasn't going to participate in this week's scavenger hunt due to being sick, but I managed to round up some photos to use.  They are almost all from the archives though.  I hope you will extend me some grace.  :)
{give me flowers}

Tulips and daffodils from our recent trip to the Erie Zoo.  So many gorgeous flowers there!

{visual contrast}
visual-contrast
I hope this qualifies for visual contrast ... more flowers from the Erie Zoo.  An orchid (?) that was growing in the greenhouse there.

These tiger cub siblings were having a good time playing together during our trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo this past Tuesday.

{before} just basic editing in ACR

{after} cropped and a couple textures added.
Sorry for my lack of originality on this category.  My brain is still not working.  :)
Neat story about this photo ... this plane was flying over the playground on Monday when Alex and I stopped by to play a while.  I found out later that a son of a friend was actually in the plane for ROTC.  It is a C-130 USAF aircraft.  And this is also my first photography sale as my friend bought the photo to give to her son.  How cool is that?!
It also got picked as a Top 5 photo of the week by Inspire Happiness Daily!

{dark}
dark
A jellyfish at the Pittsburgh Zoo.  The dark tank really makes everything glow.
(I know it is a little blurry, but you try to get a jellyfish to stay still while you take its photo.)  :)

Be sure to head over to Ashley's for more fabulous Scavenger Hunt photos!
Next week's items are:

  1. My Passion
  2. Sound of Music (Katie's suggestion)
  3. Inner Beauty (Abby's suggestion)
  4. Ethereal (Laurie's suggestion)
  5. Sharp (Laurie's suggestion)

You did a great job with visual contrast! The white of the orchid against the black background almost looks black and white, but you have the color in there too which makes it really pop. Thanks so much for linking in to Exploring with a Camera! I'm happy to have you join in.
