Things I Swear By

It is time for another Girl Talk blog hop.


This hop's topic is "Things you swear by" ... where we share a product, a tip, etc. that we couldn't live without.

You are going to think I'm crazy, but one of the things that I absolutely love is my heart rate monitor.  I wear it when I exercise.  It helps keep me motivated when I get to see if I'm working hard enough (or if I'm working too hard!) by showing me my heart rate, and when it shows me how many calories I am burning.  Strong motivation for me!

This picture isn't exactly the one I have, it is the newer model.  I got mine from No Excuses Workouts, but you can probably pick them up at a local sporting goods store.  They are $45 from No Excuses Workouts and it was money well spent.  (If you decide to get one, let me know and I can email you a link.  I earn points from referrals and can cash them in for free merchandise.  Thanks!)

Laura already mentioned him, but I also swear by Dave Ramsey.

I was just telling the other moms at my preschooler's group today that without following his advice, I don't know where we would be today.  Still up to our eyeballs in debt, I suppose.  But as you may already know, we just finished our emergency fund!  (And I'm having a giveaway to celebrate, in case you are interested).  I am super excited to be moving on to the next baby step!

Another thing I swear by is FlyLady.  

A few years back when I was feeling so overwhelmed with "stuff" and didn't know where to start, a good friend of mine suggested I check her out.  I no longer get her daily emails (she can send A LOT in one day some times), but I still follow her basic principles.  And I use a few of her products.

She calls them Rags in a Bag, which isn't a great name, but they work great!  They are microfiber cloths that we use for cleaning.  And the best part is you don't need to use any chemicals with them.  Just wet them, ring them out well, and wipe.  They work great on windows and allow the kids to help with cleaning since we don't need to use any cleaning products.

So that's it!  A few of the things I don't want to live without.  (Notice I didn't say "can't" live without ... because truthfully, my life would still go on without these things.)  :)
