A Game Winner and a Giveaway Winner!

Alex played his first official soccer game this morning.  His first game was supposed to be last Saturday, but he was sick on Friday and it was bitterly cold, so I didn't take him, even though he was feeling better and the games are indoors.  I just didn't want him to get sick again.

So they played today against my friend Kiersten's son's team.  His name is Christopher and he is a sweetheart.  200% boy.  :)  When he gets together with my boys, there are a lot of fist bumps and wrestling moves.  And noise.  Lots and lots of noise.

I took pictures during the game, but because of the high ISO (1600) and the slow shutter speed, they aren't very good.  Here are a few of the best ... and when I say "best" please know that I know they are not great.  :)

Alex playing defense.  I really have no idea why he's making the face except that he saw the camera.

Not sure what he's doing here, but he was still long enough for me to snap a pic.

Getting a chance to play goalie.  The coach is giving him a few pointers.  But I don't think he is listening.

Oh, yeah.  He's a superstar goalie.  :)

I kept motioning him to stand up but he thought I was giving him a thumbs up, so he kept giving me a thumbs up back.  And he didn't stand up until his coaches told him to.  Thankfully the ball was at the other end most of the time he was goalie.

His team won.  I think the score was 4-1 and Alex tells me he scored one goal.  I didn't see it, but it was hard to see who was scoring since their goal was at the other end of the gym and all the kids are around the ball all the time.  Next time I'll sit by the end they will be scoring in.

After soccer I took the kids to McDonald's so they could use their gift cards that Grammy got them for Christmas.  Except Keira was the only one to remember to bring hers, so she bought lunch this time.  Next time Nick will buy.  Then Alex.  I don't like McDonald's so I waited until we got home to eat lunch.

Then I remembered that today is the day to pick a winner for the $50 Dave Ramsey gift card.  I decided to join the 21st century and use random.org instead of throwing all the names in a hat.  :)  It was incredibly easy actually.  So without further ado ... the gift card winner is ...

It's great that you met your goals! I would get the bundle starter pack.

Heidi's husband, Jeff, used to be the Youth Pastor at our church.  They moved away from our area recently when he was asked to be Head Pastor at his own church a couple hours north of here.  She writes at Frugal Fantastic Homemade and In The Fishbowl.

So congratulations Heidi!!  Send me an email at {kvensel at gmail dot net} so I can get your gift card to you.

I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday!  We are just relaxing at home this evening.  The boys are watching Shrek Forever After for about the 800th time in the past two days.  :)  Keira is sleeping after attending a lock in at a local church last night from 7pm to 8am and not sleeping at all.  But she had a really good time.  Doug is on the yucky shift this week.

I'm going to go read for a while then go to bed early.  Of course, I say that every night and still stay up until 11:00-11:30.  So many blogs to visit ... so little time.  :)

Yay! I'm a winner! I'll send you an email. It'll be from homesickforheaven2. I'm not sure if it puts my name. It might say HS. Alex is so cute! Our YMCA is super small and doesn't have many good programs for the boys. :(
