Halloween party at school

I've had the honor and privilege of being deemed "PTO Room Parent" for the 2009-2010 school year for Nick's classroom. I didn't want to be room parent, but I didn't specify that I just wanted to help, so ... well, lesson learned.

It's actually not that bad. Our first party was today ... obviously the Halloween party. Halloween is my least favorite holiday, so it was a struggle for me to get excited about the party, but it all turned out well.

There are only 2 other moms that signed up to be helpers in Nick's room, which made it easy to pick who I wanted to help. :) And I already informed them that they will need to help for the Christmas and Valentine's parties. Thankfully they are both okay with that.

Anyway, I didn't get to take a lot of pictures today since I was "running the show", but I managed to squeak out a few.
Nick as a Noble Knight.

Nick's first grade class. Aren't they cute?!

One of the kids gave out the crazy teeth for their treat.

Keira in her 5th grade class party. I managed to get a pic of her after Nick's party was over. Keira's class was still partying hard!

At our party we made ghosts out of Tootsie Pops, tissues, and black yarn. Simple!

We played Halloween Bingo. Boy can those first graders yell Bingo!

And we played pin the nose on the pumpkin. You can see my home-made pumpkin in the picture behind the group.

One of the other mom helpers told me her son told her this was the best party EVER! [curtsy, bow, blowing kisses] Thank you, thank you! You've been a great crowd!

Okay, so I realize that first graders are probably easy to please, but I'll take the compliment anyway. :)

Lastly, here is a great non-traditional coloring page for the kids to color. Nick colored one and gave it to his teacher. He said she loved it!

Until next time ... God bless!

Your sons costume is great! I wound up being a room parent accidentally at one point also. (Of course we wound up homeschooling after a month or so, so I was off the hook LOL)

OMG....soooo cute! What an adorable costume...and a cute class! Love the fact that they loved YOU!

They have good taste! So, being class mom wasn't so bad, eh??

Sheri,
Thanks! We actually picked up his costume at the Salvation Army for like $7.00. I hate spending a lot of money on a costume that they only wear for 1 hour (we don't go trick-or-treating).

Kathryn,
Awwww, how sweet! Nope, being class mom wasn't so bad. I hope I can keep them happy at the next 2 parties!
