Apple Butter Pork Loin recipe

We get tired of eating the same ol' stuff all the time, so every once in a while, I will Google (is Google a verb?) for a new recipe. I came across this recipe from www.allrecipes.com which turned out to be yummy. [ I hope it is okay to post it on my blog - and the recipe police don't come after me. :) ]

Apple Butter Pork Loin
Submitted by: UMich97

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 3 hours (the website says 4 hours - not sure why)
Servings: 6

Ingredients:
2 (1-1/2 pound) pork tenderloins
seasoning salt to taste
2 cups apple juice
1/2 cup apple butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Season the pork tenderloins with seasoning salt and place them in a 9x13 inch baking dish or small roasting pan. Pour apple juice over the pork and cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
3. Bake for 1 hour in preheated oven. While the pork is roasting, mix together the apple butter, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and cloves. After the hour, remove pork tenderloins from the oven and spread the apple butter mixture over them.
4. Cover and return to the oven for 2 hours or until fork tender.

Now I'm not one to measure stuff when I'm cooking (only when baking), so, of course, I didn't measure this time either [ I like to guestimate:) which is why my spaghetti sauce never tastes quite the same each time I make it ]. I'm also not a big fan of apple butter, but this still turned out quite well and we all liked it (a huge feat in and of itself since my kids are fussy). I'm thinking this might make a good crock pot recipe. Hmmm, maybe next time.

So let me know if you try this recipe and if you like it, be sure to leave a review on the allrecipes.com website (you can leave me a comment also, if you like).

Until next time ... God bless!
Kimberly
