Last week ...
~ Keira started lessons with a new violin teacher. Her old teacher had to take some time off for personal reasons.
~ Alex went to a friend's birthday party on Tuesday evening. He had fun and came home all sugared up. :)
~ We sold the Lincoln. Finally. The buyers came to get in on Tuesday. I'm going to miss those heated seats. :)
~ I had a much-needed chiropractic adjustment. Why do I wait so long between adjustments?
~ I called our insurance company to have the Lincoln removed from our policy. As expected, our premium went down but not as much as I had expected. Apparently that multi-car discount makes a big difference. However, about five minutes after we hung up, my agent called me back to tell me that Doug's company vehicle still qualifies us for a discount. Since no one is commuting to work every day, we still qualify. That is why we have had them as our insurance company for 20+ years.
~ Alex was Star of the Week at church on Wednesday night. He got to pick the worship music and the snack. And he was interviewed by one of our volunteers.
~ We also had our "store" on Wednesday night. The kids have been earning coins to spend at the store. They get them by learning Bible verses, bringing friends, etc. It was fun to watch them spend their "money". Some even managed to save some for next time. :)
~ I hit 500 fans on my Facebook page last week. How amazing to me that 500+ people are interested in my page. It blows me away. To celebrate I hosted a giveaway. I love giving back! A local family won a photo session. I look forward to photographing them!

~ I had a family photo session on Saturday. Sessions are starting to slow down now that the chilly weather has arrived. We had a good time, as always. If you ever want to check out my photo sessions before I post them here, you can always visit my Facebook page, Kimberly Vensel Photography. You could even 'like' it while you are there. ;)
~ After Saturday's photo session we went to a good friend's house for their annual open house. It was such a nice evening. We sat out by the fire and ate and just had some great conversation. I got to meet a few new people and the boys had a blast with their friends.
I am still participating in Fat Mum Slim's photo a day challenge. The month of October has been the letters of the alphabet.

Sacrifice. We wear pretty jewelry, like this bracelet I bought Keira yesterday, as a reminder of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us on the cross at Calvary. The cross He died on for our sins wasn't nice and sparkly like this. In fact, quite the contrary. But He did it out of His great love for us. Each and every one of us.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. ~ John 3:16-17

Toad. (Archive photo)
My boys are highly skilled in finding critters. And they almost always bring them to me knowing I might want to get a photo. :)

USMC (United States Marine Corps) Uniform. My nephew, Kyle, returned from Afghanistan recently. His USMC unit was deployed for about 6 months. We are so grateful that they all made it home safely.
This is an archive photo from when he first completed boot camp. I don't think I have seen him in his dress uniform since. And, no, it is not snowing here. Yet.

Violin (and Violinist) of course. With a daughter who has been playing the violin for almost 6 years, today's prompt was a given. Trying to create a photo of her with her violin that we haven't already done was the challenge. :)

Yo-yo. Yomega Brain Auto Return Yo-yo, to be exact. A revolutionary design that enables even beginners to perform classic yo-yo tricks and make them look easy. Hmmm. We'll see about that. :)

Wonderful collection. Thank your nephew for me.
I love the violin photo...I'm a violinist and I'm always trying to think of new ways to photograph my instrument. I did a violin ABC for the FMS challenge in October..it was fun!
