I know I just posted this photo as my favorite for Project 366 Rewind's challenge, but that's because it is! :)
I struggle with macro photography, probably because I don't have a macro lens and just use macro filters on my 18-55mm lens. So I must force myself to play and learn. Which is what I did this day with one of the Monarch butterflies we raised. They are sort of captive until their wings are dry enough to fly away, so I always try to get a photo - usually a full-body shot. But this day I thought I'd break out the macro filters and see what I could get. This gorgeous female was patient with me while I played and when she'd finally had enough, she flew up into our maple tree. She's been tagged so hopefully we'll be able to track her journey to Mexico.
