Wordless Wednesday

A couple weeks ago my husband had a day off of work.  They have been few and far between these days, and since the weather was absolutely gorgeous that day, we took advantage of the opportunity and took a bike ride together on the trail.  On the way back I noticed this gorgeous tree in front of the elementary school near the bike trail.  I knew I'd have to swing back through later to get some photos and I'm so glad I did.

I came back right before sunset and took these.  Once at home I looked up the kind of tree and discovered it is a Magnolia tree.  Oh, how sweet it smelled!  I want one!  But since allergies will probably prevent us from ever getting one for our own yard, I'll just have to enjoy this one for now.

I played around with some vintage processing thanks to Rita's steps on The CoffeeShop Blog.  I love running actions because they are quick and easy, but I also want to learn how to do things myself, so I did these all the "hard" way (it wasn't hard at all).  Plus I downloaded the trial version of PSE 10 and haven't loaded any actions into it yet.

Happy Wednesday!

Absolutely totally glorious images!! (May I ask what lens you used here? I guess I should check out your camera bag. I have the T3i and am so disappointed....but I have kit lenses at the moment, too. Have others picked out to order.)

I love the processing. How did you do it? I downloaded a bunch of actions too but want to learn how to do it myself before using the actions. I tried it on my photo but the effect you got is much nicer.

I saw a tree like this the other day and was wondering what is was. I will never have one either, thanks to allergies. But the photos you took are just stunning, and I LOVE the processing. Gorgeous!
