Shoot & Edit: Love/Romance SOOC

Monday brings with it another Shoot & Edit challenge.  Where we post a SOOC shot on Monday, then post the new, improved, edited version on Thursday.  This week's theme is Love/Romance.

Here is my SOOC shot:

My dear sweet husband brought home roses yesterday.  They were from a discount store, but still.  I love roses.  Then this morning there was this little box of Russell Stover chocolates on my nightstand with a sweet handmade card.  The kids each got one also - minus the card.  Upon getting in my car this morning, I was welcomed with another box of chocolates and a Valentine's Day card. All of this leaving me wondering ... who is this man and what has he done with my husband?  :)  And why is he buying me chocolates when I'm heading to the gym to exercise to lose these last 15 pounds?  :)  Not that I don't appreciate the gifts ... I do!  And I love him for being so sweet.

However my idea of romance is not at all what my picture is today.  Instead of roses, candy, cards, etc., I'd much rather have a day off.  A day when my husband tells me to go do whatever I want and he'll take care of everything at home.  Getting the kids off to school, picking Alex up from preschool and entertaining him until Keira and Nick get home.  Helping Nick with his homework.  Making dinner and washing the dishes.  Getting everyone ready for bed.  Then when I do get home, I can just sit and relax.  Read a book, watch a little television, or get caught up on everyone's blogs.  {sigh}  That would be wonderful.  :)  I'm not sure what I would do with myself all day.  But I know I would love it and come home refreshed and renewed.

Or even better, telling me that he got a sitter for a day and he and I get to go do something together.  Go see a movie or a show.  Go to the zoo or the aviary, where I can take a gazillion pictures.  :)  Go on a bike ride and have a picnic.  Or on a hike.  Oh yeah, any of those would be great!

What's your idea of romance?  Do you like to be wined and dined?  Or would you rather have flowers?  Is jewelry your thing?  Or, like me, would you just like to enjoy each other's company, no matter what you are doing?

See you back here on Thursday with my edited version.

Head on over to Jill's to see other fabulous SOOC shots.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

:) What a sweet hubby to be thinking about you so much!! Even if it's not "ideally" what you had in mind!

Me, just spending time together, not having a chore list or any other to-do thing in the back of my mind. Just snuggling and watching a movie, or going for a truck ride. :) Or spending time playing with our fur-kid! :)

I completely agree with your idea of romance - I don't need the cards, flowers or chocolates one day a year...I need a life of balance. :)

My husband offered to take me (and our children) out to dinner last night....

To which I replied...."Sweetie, as much as I love the idea of not having to cook dinner, going out to dinner means I have to get myself, plus 4 little overtired bodies cleaned up and cooperative, to go sit in a restaurant. As sweet as you are for offering, that just seems like a lot of work!"

He called the local Italian place, and ordered in! Got yummy dinner, cooked by someone else....and got to eat it in my pajama pants.

that's romance :) At least, to me it is!
