Shoot & Edit Challenge - Week Two: Good Morning

This week's Shoot & Edit Challenge is "what means good morning to you".  This is where I post a SOOC shot on Monday, then post the edited version on Thursday.  Hopefully I can learn a thing or two about photography and editing in the process.

Good mornings to me are ...
Mornings that the kids play quietly downstairs while Mom sleeps in.  Undisturbed.
Nowhere to go.  No rushing around.
No one bugging me for breakfast.
No one fighting with their siblings.
The dog has been let out to do her business; she's been fed and has plenty of fresh water.
The kitchen sink/counter is clean because the dishes were washed and put away the night before.
Then when Mom does get up, she sits and reads her Bible, has some quiet time before the Lord, sipping her hot cup of tea before she starts her day.

Here's my SOOC shot.

The reality is ...
Most mornings I don't get to sleep in much past 7:30-8:00.  If even that late.  And I have probably been awakened by the kids fighting downstairs.  Or one of the boys (*ahem*Alex*ahem*) jumping on me telling me it is time to get up.
I probably have to take someone to school and/or am headed to the gym to exercise.  Which means getting everyone ready and out the door by 8:45-9:00.
Both boys are asking for breakfast at the same time.  And fighting over who gets theirs first.
No one even looked at the dog, let alone let her out to pee.  She hasn't been fed.  And there's a good chance her water dish is empty.  So when I let her out to pee, she will eat a bunch of snow because she's so parched.
The kitchen sink is stacked with last night's dinner dishes because Mom was busy bathing, reading to, entertaining, and tucking in a couple kids.  (Keira is old enough to bath herself).  :)  Oh, and no, I don't have a dishwasher.  Not until the new kitchen is installed - hopefully later this year.  And no one else here seems to know how to wash dishes.  :)
And I might get a few minutes of Bible reading in before all the running around happens, but I won't absorb/retain any of it because I'm trying to read amidst all the activity and fighting and noise. So I'll give up and just read it later.

All that to say, the above picture shows a portion of an "ideal" morning.  Not a typical morning.  :)

Stop back on Thursday to see the edited version.  And be sure to stop over at Jill's to link up and play along!

I really like your ideal morning - that's the way it should be...but the reality is that it isn't...well not always.

Great shot - too bad even just part of your ideal morning couldn't show up sometimes in a reality morning! lol!
