I Cry

Maybe I am just emotional right now, but I have found myself crying at things lately.  Not that they aren't necessarily worthy.  Like the video that Laura posted on Girl Talk about the American Idol contestant, Chris Medina.  That is certainly something to cry about.  What a guy!

I cried for joy when we finished our emergency fund.  And when Doug sold his car after not much effort.  And when our refinance on our house went through recently, which, by the way is going to save us about $68,000 over the life of the loan - just going from a 30-year to a 15-year mortgage.  We originally thought it would save about $44,000.

But one thing I often cry over are movies.  And not just any movies ... kid movies.  Animations.  Mainly because those are the only movies I get to see these days.  :)  They're not even real people and they make me cry.

For instance, Alex was watching Toy Story 3 today.  I was semi-napping so I missed the first 2/3 or so.  I woke up in time to see the parts that make me cry.  Every. Single. Time.  I don't want to give the movie away here just in case you haven't seen it.  But if you have seen it, you probably know what part I'm talking about.  When there seems to be no hope for the toys.  When Jesse asks Buzz what they are going to do now.  He reaches out his hand to hold hers and then all the toys hold hands ... Here come the waterworks.  Every. Single. Time.

We rented Shrek Forever After this weekend, so that was our popcorn and movie night movie tonight.  Yep, you guess it ... I cried.  Not like I cry over Toy Story 3, but still.  It is a surprisingly touching movie.  I guess since it is the last.  I think.

Other kid movies that make me cry ... Monsters Inc., How to Train Your Dragon, Charlotte's Web, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Up.

I have seen some non-kid movies that I cry over ... The Notebook, Independence Day, The Blind Side ... just to name a few.  But I don't watch movies too often.  Non-kid movies anyway.

Now I do cry at real-life stuff too.  Like I will get choked up listening to our pastor preach, or Keira play her violin, or watching Alex play soccer and really enjoy himself and listen well to the coaches.  Or like today when I found my first gray hair.  Naw, I'm just kidding.  I didn't really cry about that.  Yet.  :)

I will tear up if someone else is crying.  Like when my aunt died recently.  We weren't close, so I wasn't really broken up over her death.  Not to sound callous or anything.  That's just a fact. But to see my mom cry because she lost her baby sister.  Or my cousins cry because they lost their mom way too soon.  Those things make me cry also.

Even just typing this post and thinking about these things ... I am tearing up.  No, it's not my time of the month.  Lately I don't even know when my TOM is ... since it is so sporadic.  But I do know it is not now.

What kinds of things make you cry?  Do you cry over a good book?  Or a Disney or Dreamworks animation like me?  Do you cry tears of joy over happy things?

Surely I can't be the only one.

Please tell me I'm not alone here.

Please.

You don't want me to cry, do you?

:)

This was cute.

i DO cry a lot. Not sure if i cry as much as you, though. ;) Just give me time. When i have kids in soccor & playing the violin i am sure i will more!

I cry on EVERY episode of Idol. I balled like a baby for Chris Medina. But i cried when Lauren Alaina auditioned too (she is AMAZING) & when this other girl did...i forgot her name...but she cried when she auditioned b/c it meant so much to her...and she made me cry.

I always sympathize w/ people & cry when i hear their stories. Or when they are going thru something. I sobbed & GRIEVED when 2 of my friends got divorced last year.

I cry in a lot of TV shows, commercials & movies. LOL. I haven't seen Toy Story 3. I think i did cry in Narnia & How to Train your Dragon tough. And definitely the notebook & the blindside!

Whew! That's a lot of crying we do! ;) What is crazy is that if someone dies...it takes me awhile to cry. Like i have delayed reaction. If it was my husband or mom or something, i'd cry instantly i'm sure. But other ppl who are pretty close (but not family) have died & i was kind of in shock...cried after the funeral.

SORRY SO LONG!!

Yes i can get emotional. Maybe it's a woman thing? Although I mainly cry when i am upset or there are confronting situations. I don't want to i'd actually like to be able to get through whatever it is and actually say what i want to say but it rarely happens...

I cry, too. Very interesting in a house with all boys...I'll be reading to them and all the sudden I'll say "I'm gonna cry." Their eyes roll and I cry and go on. I bawl a lot on American Idol stuff. I don't think you're alone!!
