I need a break. A real break. A true break. A full day to myself would be absolutely wonderful. Or even half a day. Or just a few hours.
But it's not gonna happen anytime soon.
Doug is still working such long hours. With seldom a day off. And when he does have off, I like to spend time with him - having not seen him much lately.
And there are kid activities to participate in this week that will keep me from even exercising without children. The only time I really get to myself these days.
I was hoping for Friday. The kids are off school so we'll go to the Christmas parade in the morning. Then our church is hosting a day where you can drop your kids off and know that they will be safe and supervised while you shop or wrap or take a nap. (Hey, that rhymes!)
But ... Alex is too young to participate. It is for Kindergarteners and up. Ugh!
What I wouldn't do for a few hours just to myself. To wrap gifts. Or read a few chapters of a book. Or scrapbook - something I haven't done in a loooooong time. Or take a bubble bath. I can't remember the last time I took a bubble bath.
Oh the things I could do!
[If you want to give me a Christmas gift (or a birthday gift since my birthday is December 14 :), give me a few hours of free babysitting. I would be eternally grateful!]
So I'll just continue to enjoy the few hours of quiet I get once everyone is in bed ... and I'll stay up way too late trying to enjoy just a few more minutes.
Because tomorrow morning it will start all over again.

I feel like this sometimes as well. It would be nice to get a break. Sometimes I dream of the things I could do with a whole day!
Oh my gosh! I totally forgot we share a birthday!!!!! I seem to recall you mentioning it last year!
I'm off that day because I REFUSE to work on my 40th birthday!
If i lived in PA, i would totally give you a free day of babysitting. I know that's no help, though. I hope you get a break soon... :o/ Hugs!!
Aw, honey. You need to be spreading the word about those babysitting favors to someone just a tad closer.
I think some serious time to yourself is MANDATORY. Ya just gotta find it!
