When Keira and I got home, Doug had everything packed up and ready and even had lunch made for us. How great that was!
We arrived around 1:30 and the parking lot was remarkably sparse. Lots of places to park. Either Monday isn't a busy zoo day or everyone had been there and had already left. Nice.
Here are some photos of our visit.
This ostrich wasn't very happy with this little deer. He kept chasing it around and squawking at it.
My favorite part of the zoo ... the elephants. I could spend all day watching them!
This baby elephant was so cute. He kept swinging his truck forward and back ...
like he had just discovered that he had one. :)
The big male gorilla made his way over to this other gorilla who then rolled onto her back and they looked like they kissed. Sweet!
This gorgeous peacock was making a lot of noise from up in this tree.
The sand tiger sharks are Nick's favorite part. One of them swam right over my head but I had my 55-200 zoom lens on and couldn't get a picture since he was too close. :(
Sorry for the view of the goat's butt, but it is a rare occurrence that I am able to photograph all 3 kids together. They usually run away screaming. :)
The kids were goofing off and hiding from the camera when I tried to get all 3 together (again). Doug threatened to never bring them to the zoo again unless they smiled nice for the camera. I guess it worked! Alex looks a little blurry to me though.
Keira took this picture of Doug and me. Not the greatest, but we don't get pictures together very often - since I'm always the one taking the pictures.
I let Keira use my pocket digital camera for the day. We ended up with a lot of blurry pictures. :) I need to give her a little lesson in photography apparently.

Those are some awesome pics!! I love the elephants too! Love the giraffe pic too! WOW! You got some great ones!
Kiera has got gorgeous eyes! Love the one of the three of them smiling. :) & that's a great pic of you & your husband too!
Great pictures! I can never get good pictures of the flamingos because of the fence. How did you manage it? And next time you are in the shark tunnel and you have your large zoom on and want to take a picture just sit on the floor. :)
