We have ....

Carpeting!!!!!

Finally!  The carpet guy came this afternoon and installed the carpeting in Keira's bedroom!  Woo hoo!

After waiting 3 long hours for him to come -- he was scheduled to be here around 1:00-1:30 but ran behind at the job prior to ours (I guess the people didn't have the room cleared like they were supposed to), he finally arrived around 4:30.  It was like waiting for the cable company!  We'll be there some time between noon and 4:00.  Is that okay with you?  You have no life, right?  :)

Anyway, here's a before/after picture.  Before = ugly old painted wood splintery floor; after = beautiful soft cushiony (albeit stinky) carpeting.

And, of course, since my brain function is low this week due to early mornings spent at Vacation Bible School with a bunch of 3rd and 4th graders, I didn't think to take the before picture until after the carpet guy, Mike, got here and put down the tacking (or whatever that stuff is called that they put along the baseboards).  I waited until he had to go out to his truck for something and snuck in and snapped a few pics.  :)  And I had my zoom lens on which is why the before picture doesn't show as much floor as the after picture does.  Ugh!

We'll probably go buy her bed tomorrow.  Here's hoping they have the mattresses in stock, but if not, she's waited this long, a few more days won't kill her.  :)  Plus it will give the room more time to air out.  I'm glad that is the last of the new carpeting for our house.  I forgot how bad it smelled when it was first installed.

So on the agenda for tomorrow, after Vacation Bible School, of course ...

Bed
Bedding
Blinds

It is a good thing Doug will be home to keep the boys busy.  I do not want to go shopping for those things with those two tagging along.  That would not be fun.

:-)
