I was wrong ...

Yesterday's post when I said that I totally rocked ... well, I was wrong.

You know why?

Because today ... I totally rock!!!!!!!

Yesterday I ran the scheduled 8 minutes, walk 5, run 8.  It was hard but I did it.

Today's plan (well, actually tomorrow's plan, but since the gym is closed tomorrow, it became today's) ... according to the Couch to 5K schedule ... walk 5 minutes to warm up then run 20 minutes or 2 miles.  Yikes!

I went in this morning planning to try the 8/5/8 plan again.  Not thinking I was ready to step it up a notch.  Especially since I just ran yesterday.

But I did it!!!

I told myself I would just see how I feel while I'm running and go from there.  I didn't want to injure myself by forcing myself to run if I was hurting.

So I ran 5, then 8, then 10, then I figured I was already half way there, I may as well keep going.

I ended up running 21.5 minutes (I had to finish out the lap I was on - I'm anal that way).  :)

Whew!

The hardest thing?  Not having someone to high five me when I finished!  Although one of the lifeguards there (I think her name is Kristen - I need to find out because I talk to her all the time!) was talking to me beforehand and was also running a few treadmills down ... she congratulated me from afar, but it wasn't the same.

I made my kids high five me when I got them out of the play rooms.  They think I'm weird.  Nicholas is the most proud though.  He's my personal cheerleader.

Running truly is a mental thing.

And I'm back to liking it again.

At least a little.

:)

I can do this!

Go Kim, Go! I've had to take a break because of my foot, but you have inspired me to get back to it once I feel like my foot won't hurt after. YAY!
