I know I already did a post for today, but I love Thankgiving ... and the topic for this week over at {ae filkins } is all about Thanksgiving ...
Turkey or Ham?
Turkey, but Doug mentioned having a ham also. Maybe sometime over the weekend, we’ll make a ham?
Favorite side dish.
Bring on the stuffing, baby! Seriously, I don’t even need turkey. Just piles and piles of stuffing.
Favorite dessert.
Traditional – pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Yum!
Black Friday: Are you going or not?
Nope. Nuh uh. No way. Couldn’t pay me to go. I guess my answer would be no.
If so, what's on the top of your list?
If I were to go, which I’m not (did you read my last answer?), I’d get another portable DVD player for one of my children. I got one on sale at Target and a rain check for the second. Hoping they get more in before Christmas.
Going out of town or staying close to home?
Home.
Hosting or helping?
Hosting.
Name one family tradition at Thanksgiving.
Other than eating turkey? We just enjoy each other’s company. It is one of the few times during the year that my family and Doug’s family all get together. It gets crazy, noisy, and hectic, but it’s a lot of fun.
What do you do after dinner?
The past couple years (this year included), Doug has had to work afternoon shift. So we eat at noon or 1:00. And then the kids and I (and whoever sticks around) will play games, watch movies, pop popcorn, whatever. Then we eat turkey again for supper.
What are you most thankful for this year?
There's so much to be thankful for this year, it is hard to pick just one thing. Here are just a few - not in any particular order ... God's grace, my family, our health, Doug's job, good friends, our puppy, freedom from debt.
Well, that's it for me. Be sure to check out {ae filkins } and play along!
