Project Life ~ Week 19

So I'm still a week behind on my PL pages.  I have plans to get caught up in the next few weeks.  Once the kids are done with school and our lazy summer days begin (yeah, right!), I plan to work on my pages.  And get lots of editing and printing done while the kids are playing in the pool.  Hey, I can dream, right?

In the meantime, here are week nineteen's pages ...

Once again, I found that I had way too many photos that I wanted to include, so I eliminated journaling cards on the right side and added text to each photo.  And I rearranged the template to suit my needs.  The few elements that I did use are from the Kraft edition.  The heart embellishment is an oldie from Scrapper's Guide.

Now I have to go snuggle with my sick boy.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Project Life ~ Week 18

So, I'm a week behind.  The last couple weeks were crazy busy and I just didn't have time to keep caught up with my pages.  This week is a little less busy so I'm hoping to get current again.  But in the meantime, I did finish week 18's pages.

I used a mixture of Seafoam and Kraft, although I didn't use much of either.  I had way too many photos that I didn't want to leave out.  Hence the journaling on the photos this week. The butterfly embellishment is from Echo Park.

May always gets busy with school functions and getting ready for Vacation Bible School.  This year I helped with the Staff Appreciation Luncheon at the boys' school, which busied up my schedule even more.  We had it on Thursday and it was well received.  As much as I enjoyed helping with it, I am glad it is over.

Now we are getting ready for school concerts and more field trips.  I have a retreat to attend this weekend along with a birthday party and some photo shoots coming up.  Which means hours of editing.  Gah!  I wish I could hire someone to do my editing for me.  :)

Oh, and we are talking about having a yard sale Memorial Day weekend.  Yikes!  The boys have all their stuff ready.  I don't have anything ready.  So they may be having a yard sale while I sit and edit photos.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Project Life ~ Week 17

Squeaking in another week at the last minute!  Things are starting to get even busier around here.  Makes me look forward to the kids' summer break and the "lazy days of summer."  And anyone who knows me knows that's just crazy talk!  :)

I used all Kraft edition this week.  And I decided to add lots of journaling directly onto the photos.  Because I like to include lots of photos, I find that one or two journaling spots just isn't enough some weeks.   Hopefully there aren't any typos since I hurried through the journaling this afternoon!  But I enjoy participating in the Project Life Tuesday link up because it keeps me accountable.  I work better under deadlines.  If you give me something to do and tell me to just have it done whenever, it will probably never get done.  Hence the unfinished projects I have on my "get to someday" list.  But if I know I need to have something done by a certain time, I will find a way to get it done.  Please tell me I'm not alone in that!  :)

Anyway, thanks for stopping by!  I can't guarantee I'll be able to return the visit this week, but I will certainly try!

Project Life ~ Week 16

Whew!  I was scrambling to get my pages done today!  But I managed.  And there are still plenty of hours of daylight left to go out and enjoy this beautiful spring weather!

I'm still chugging along with a mixture of Seafoam and Kraft.  The flowers on the title card are from Echo Park.  The chalkboard card is a freebie from Persnickity Prints and the font used for the quote is CK Ali's Hand.  The numbers on page 2 are from the Cherry Edition.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm going outside to play!  :)

Project Life ~ Week 15

Despite all the craziness, I managed to get my week 15 pages done.  They are very simple.  And that's okay.  I could always go back and fancy them up later.  I probably won't, but I could.  :)

And, yeah, I see a typo now that I have my pages posted.  I hate when that happens.  I fixed it but didn't feel like re-uploading.  :)

Still bouncing back and forth between the Seafoam edition and the Kraft edition.  I used a mixture of both this week.  I think.  :)  I lose track when I'm looking around at both.  I really like the look of text on photos, as you may have guessed.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a great week!

Project Life ~ Week 14

I'm so excited to remain caught up on my pages!  I don't think I have ever scrapbooked something as soon as it happened.  So this is unusual and wonderful all at the same time!  :)

Now that April has arrived we are finally starting to see signs of spring here in Pennsylvania.  In fact, yesterday was around 70 degrees!  It was gorgeous!  Honey and I went to do my C25K training on the bike trail in the morning and I bundled up like I always do.  I quickly found out that I didn't need to be so bundled.  The headband and gloves were not needed.  Yay!

Let me just share a cute story.  Heading south on the bike trail we passed a house where a little schnauzer dog came running after Honey.  She's such a scaredy dog that she couldn't wait to get away from him.  All 8 pounds of him.  (She weighs about 90 pounds!)  However on the way back, he was on the trail a few hundred yards from his home and when he saw us coming, he wasn't so brave anymore.  He couldn't seem to run fast enough to get back home.  Of course, Honey wouldn't have hurt him.  She may be big but she's very gentle.  Our gentle giant.  :)

Anyway, that made me chuckle.

Now onto my pages ...

I used a mixture of Seafoam and Kraft this week.  I wasn't crazy about the bright color of the title card on these pages so I changed it.  The beauty of digital.  :)  I kept the pages pretty simple with just some text on photos as embellishments.  I had to do a photo collage for our Easter photos.  I wanted to be sure to include all 3 kids.  Especially since I didn't appear to take any more photos of Keira this week!  We remedied that this past Sunday so you'll be seeing more of her next week.

AC Digitals released the new Cinnamon edition yesterday.  It is sooooo gorgeous!  All those browns and dark blues.  Oh my!  I am trying really hard not to scoop it up right now.  Especially since I already own several digital kits.  I'm not sure I can justify it.  Or maybe I can.  We'll see.  I have the rest of this week to get it at 20% off.

Also Zulily has Shutterfly photo books for a great price through April 12.  (referral link)  You can get an 8x8 photo book for $10 or an 8x11 photo book for $15.  They are regularly $30 and $35 respectively, so that's a great savings!  The only bummer is that you are limited to only one of each size.  I made sure to scoop up one of each since my list of photo book ideas is pretty long.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  I look forward to being inspired by some of the pages shared on The Mom Creative!  If you haven't already, you should go check some out.  There are some beautiful pages shared each week!

Have a great week!

Project Life ~ Week 13

Hello!  Due to a couple of sick kids, my plans for having lunch with a friend today have changed.  Which is fine.  Sometimes you just gotta go with the flow, right?  I have lots to do today so I'll get right to my pages.

Once again I used the Kraft edition of digital PL.  The background paper is the same as in previous weeks - from Scrapper's Guide.  And the hello embellishment is from the Echo Park Paper Co. For the Record 2 kit.

I didn't have room for the picture of my new Jade kit I purchased from HSN.  :(  I really debated about getting it because I love working with the digital kits, but I have loads of pictures already printed that need to go into books, so I plan to use the Jade kit to get those photos organized.  Some day.  :)

While you are here, you might want to check out a couple giveaways I have going on ...
The book, What I Wish I Knew at 18, giveaway ends today.
The DVD, Janet's Planet, a lesson on microgravity, giveaway ends on Thursday.

Well, off to get busy!  Lots of items to check off my to-do list today!  Have a great week!

Project Life ~ Weeks 11 & 12

Yep, you read that right!  I completed both weeks 11 and 12 of my 2013 Project Life pages!  I am now officially caught up!  WOOT! I don't say that in an arrogant way at all, because life may happen and put me behind again.  :)  But for now I'm excited to be current!

I think I told you last week that I had purchased the new Kraft edition because it would work really well with Seafoam.  Well, I used all Kraft elements this week - title card and journaling cards.  However I am still using the same background paper from Scrapper's Guide.  I just like the soft, neutral color of it.

And, yes, that would be me in belly dancing bells.  And, no, I hadn't been drinking. (I don't drink).  We had a blast at girls' night and got a bit silly.  Thanks, Laura, for the picture!

{spread}

Week 12 also features the Kraft edition.  I think the only thing I changed on it was adding a few colored circles to the title card.  It was originally all light blue, so I just used the color picker to pull the color from the two journaling card flags and filled in a few circles on the title card.  I also used template F on the right side since I had so many pictures this week.  Despite being sick with a cold, I managed to take LOADS of pictures and had to leave several out of my spread.

On another note, are you watching The Bible miniseries on The History Channel?  I'm not much of a TV watcher, but I am hooked.  And kinda bummed that Easter Sunday is the last week for it.  Keira thinks the actor that is portraying Jesus is really handsome.  I must concur.  :)

Well, that's it for me.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Project Life ~ Week 10

The bad news is I'm still a week behind on my 2013 pages.  BUT, the good news is I'm only a week behind on my 2013 pages!  Is your glass half empty or half full today?  :)

I really should write down the elements I use when I'm working on a page so I don't have to try to remember.  :)

Still using the Seafoam edition as my base.  But I just purchased the new Kraft edition and I'm excited to incorporate it into my pages!  It looks like it will work well with Seafoam!  And probably some others as well.

The title card was originally a yellow color that I didn't care for on this layout so I changed it to gray.  The flourish embellishment is from my stash - probably from Scrapper's Guide.  Background paper is still from Scrapper's Guide.  The 3x4 black-lined journaling card on the left page came from the Jessica Sprague Digi PL class I took.  The 4x6 notebook paper journaling card came from Splendid Fiins (not sure how I got it but the TOU says it is available at JessicaSprague.com).  The 3x4 filler card on the right page is a freebie from Becky Higgins.

Whew!  I think that about covers it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life ~ Week 9

Before I get to my pages I wanted to let you know about a couple giveaways I have going on right now ...
Roma Downey's Little Angels Prayers for Every Day (today is the last day to enter!)
and
JJ Heller's new music CD, LOVED (enter by Sunday, March 17)

Be sure to check them out!
**********

Week 9 was a relatively quiet week.  I visited with a few friends (didn't take any pictures of them though  - I need to remember to do that next time!), did some sewing, and did normal, routine stuff.  Alex wasn't feeling well and stayed home from school one day and chose not to go to soccer that Saturday.  We did have a milestone that week though ... I bought Nick his first deodorant.  My boy is growing up!  :)

I am continuing to use the digital Seafoam edition of Project Life.  In addition to that I used a journaling card that I got from taking the Digital PL class from Jessica Sprague.   The background paper and embellishment on the title card are from Scrapper's Guide.  The numbers on the photos are from the Cherry edition.  I changed the color of them slightly to match the title card.  And the arrow on the one journaling card is also from the Cherry edition.

Another rare moment is that I appear in a photo again this week.  I'm trying to make a point of showing up more often in my photos by handing off the camera to Keira or Nick.  I like that they are both interested in photography and plan to encourage that interest this spring/summer.

I was hoping to be caught up and be able to post both weeks 9 and 10, but 10 is still a work in progress.  Other things took priority, as often happens.

Thanks for stopping by to peek at my pages!  Be sure to visit The Mom Creative for more Project Life inspiration.

Project Life ~ Week 8

So remember last week when I said I was hoping to get week 8 done and be able to get current?  Yeah, didn't happen.  I chose to do some other things, like make this Kindle Fire cover/stand and spend time with a few friends.  I also got pulled into a book and spent more time reading it than working on my pages.  No big deal though.  I'm still only one week behind.  At least, that's what I keep telling myself.  :)

{2013 - Week eight - left side}
2013W08a
Still using the Seafoam edition.  I changed the color of a few words on the title card to make them stand out.  I also changed the color of the letters on the filler card so it coordinated better with the page.  Did you know you can customize your colors with the paint bucket tool?

I also had to think outside the title card for my "week 8" title.  It just didn't go well on the title card with all those words already on it.  And changing the opacity didn't work because it made the red turn pink.  So "week 8" is over on my journaling card.  As a creature of habit, I will have to adjust.  :)

Project Life ~ 2013 Weeks Five and Six combined, and Week Seven

I am almost caught up with 2013's pages!  WOOT!  I had to combine weeks 5 and 6 due to a lack of pictures.  And I managed to get week 7 done this weekend also.  Week 8 is already started - still in the planning stages.  I have too many pictures for week 8, which is a good problem to have, I guess.  So I need to narrow them down.  Or do two spreads.  :)  I'm really hoping to stay caught up this year.  Especially since I'm still working on 2011 (digitally) and 2012 (physical).

Anyway, here are my pages ...

As I stated before, I am using the Seafoam edition of Project Life.  On the left page, the 3x4 journaling card originally had "this is life" in an orange circle.  I didn't care for the way it looked on my page so I used the paint bucket and changed it to light blue.  I also lowered the opacity of the title card since it is black and white originally.  The background paper and flourish on the title card are from Scrapper's Guide.

I also lowered the opacity of the title card in week seven because it was too orange for me.  The 3x4 quote card is a freebie from Becky Higgins - minus the brackets - I added them.  The clock embellishment and background paper are from Scrapper's Guide.  (I have multiple digi kits from when I was a member of SG, so you will probably be seeing things from them each week.  I need to justify taking up all that portable hard drive space.  :) )

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!  Have a wonderful week!

Project Life ~ 2013 Week Four

Last week I managed to get three more paper spreads done for 2012 and one digital spread done for 2013.  I have yet to photograph any of my 2012 book, but I will eventually.  In the meantime, I'm excited about almost being caught up with 2013.  I really like doing Project Life digitally.

Yeah, this week was mostly about Alex.  I need to do a better job of photographing Keira and Nick!  And Doug and myself!  Alex is just usually my most-willing subject.  :)  And he was home a couple days.

If you are interested you can view:
Week One
Weeks Two and Three (combined)

Once again I used the Seafoam edition for the title card.  Two journaling cards are also from Seafoam; the other two are from the Jessica Sprague class I took recently.  She gave us some goodies for taking the class.  The twine embellishment on the title card is from an old Scrapper's Guide kit I had.  (I will probably be using lots of stuff from them since that is what I have right now).  And the 4x6 alphabet card on the right page is a freebie from Becky Higgins.  (If you don't already have these, click on the link and scroll down until you get to the Project Life section and download them).  Oh, and the background paper is also from Scrapper's Guide.

Thanks for stopping by!  I look forward to seeing what pages you created this week!

Oh, and before you go, pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaassssse, I beg you ... if you have word verification on your blog, turn it off.  You can always set up your comments to not allow anonymous comments in order to avoid spam (like my blog).  Or you can set it up to approve comments before they are posted.  If you need help doing either of these things, I'd be glad to show you how.  It makes leaving comments on your beautiful pages soooo much easier!  And I will be forever grateful.  :)  Thanks!

Project Life ~ 2013 Weeks Two and Three

For this week's Project Life pages, I decided to continue with 2013 - weeks 2 and 3.  I didn't take enough pictures in either week to warrant their own spreads, so I combined.  These came together pretty quickly since I already had the photos edited.

Again, I used the digital version of Seafoam, a background paper from an old Scrapper's Guide kit I had, and some embellishments from Jessica Sprague (from a class I recently took).

Thanks for stopping by!

Just a note ... I love to come visit and see your pages, but if you have word verification turned on, it is highly likely that I will not comment.  Most times I can't read the captcha that Blogger uses and it is incredibly frustrating.  If you have any questions on how to turn of word verification, let me know.  I'd be glad to help!

Project Life ~ 2013 Week One

I've been jumping all over the place working on my Project Life albums.  I started my 2011 Project 365 photos in digital format.  (If you are interested you can view Week One and Week Two.)  I'm still working on 2012's P365 paper album.  (I'm at the end of April/beginning of May!).  I have yet to photograph any of those pages yet though.

Then this weekend I decided I better get started on 2013's pages before I forget what happened.  Not doing a P365 this year made these pages harder.  Harder to decide what to include.  But since my photography mojo is currently in hibernation mode, I didn't have that many photos to choose from, which helped a little.  :)

I'm using the Seafoam digital kit this year.  I just love the soft colors!

On the title card I also included some twill from a Scrapper's Guide kit I've had forever (back when I tried to do digital scrapbooking before).  And the background paper is also from that same Scrapper's Guide kit.

I've read my journaling about 16 times so I'm hoping there aren't any typos!  :)
