After trying for months, we finally got together last month to photograph my friend Nikki's family. When she asked me to do them, I was excited and, I will admit, a bit nervous. We have been friends for years and I put some pressure on myself to not disappoint. We looked through them together when I delivered them and picked out our favorites and discussed some things we may have done differently. This is still a learning process for me and I love walking away with some additional knowledge that I can apply the next time.
Anyway, here are a few shots from their session taken at a local college campus ...
Those eyes! :)
Keira was my assistant and we experimented with some different posing. I think this was one of her ideas.
When I do sessions at the college, we always end up in the big field by my favorite tree. It is so pretty in the fall.
Thank you, Nikki, for the honor of photographing your family!

Love the pose of them on the stairs/walk-way! Keira has a great eye!
Love the last one of them sitting in the field. I haven't gone to the college yet but probably will next year just to mix things up a bit. :)
