Project 52 - Week 15

Hello!  Happy Monday!  We had a busy, wonderful weekend!  Nicholas had his 10th birthday on Saturday.  It is so hard to believe his is 10 already!!!  We had a couple of his friends sleep over on Friday night.  (And I use that term loosely since they didn't actually sleep much.)  And then more friends and family joined us on Saturday for his party.  The weather wasn't quite nice enough to be outside for the party but the kids did get to go out and play for a bit, which was nice.  They got to burn off some energy and the grown-ups got a break.  :)

I'm looking forward to a little less busy week this week.  Although not by much.

Here are just a few photos from last week ...

Keira has been asking me to take some new photos of her so she could update her FB profile picture, so Sunday after church we did a quick shoot in the back yard.  It was windy and chilly, which is why it was a quick shoot.  :)

I picked up some colorful pots at Michaels so we could plant the seed papers that the kids had.  Alex wanted to help add the soil.  I think he just likes playing in dirt.

Nick's birthday party was on Saturday.  He requested a Yoda cake.  Unfortunately my friend who makes cakes couldn't make his cake this year due to family obligations.  So I was faced with the challenge of making it myself.  Now, I can bake a cake.  That's the easy part.  The decorating part ... not so much.  But I did it and Nick loved it, which is really all that matters.  :)  I posted a photo of it and the Yoda cake pops my friend, Lindsey, made in yesterday's Scavenger Hunt if you want to check them out.

Before you go, I posted a review and giveaway this morning for the movie This Is Our Time.   You might want to go check that out.

And I just got reminded that the movie, Home Run, will be in theaters starting this Friday, April 19.  I read the book and wrote a review about it a while back.  I loved the book and can't wait to see the movie!  I'm thinking this might be a good reason for a date night with my husband.  If you'd like to see a trailer for the movie, go to www.homerunthemovie.com.

Hope you have a great week!

The Yoda cake looks great! The different colored pots for planting is a fun idea. What boy doesn't love playing with dirt? Great shot of Keira. That will make the perfect profile picture and so sweet she asked you to do it for her. Love her name. I have a friend with a 6 yr old daughter that has the same name.
