We all know the story of Jonah, right? God tells him to do something he doesn't want to do. He runs from God. He gets swallowed by a whale, spends three days in the smelly, dark, and probably incredibly gross belly of the whale, then gets spit back out. And then he chooses to obey.
But have you ever thought of it from the whale's perspective?
I never did until I read the book ...
This is the cutest book EVER! It is the story of what the whale goes through having to obey God and swallow Jonah. I mean, whales wouldn't want to swallow a human. They taste like dirt! At least that's what the whale says. :)
This story is adorable. The illustrations are colorful. And the book is just a really fun way to get a great story across to kids. And grown ups too.
And today you have a chance to win a copy of this book. Just leave a comment telling me your favorite Bible story. Is it Creation? Jonah and the whale? Daniel and the lion's den? Just shout it out! And be sure to do so by Sunday, May 5. I will randomly choose a winner on Monday, May 6, and announce it here on the ol' blog.
