Once upon a time I was really quite crafty.
I scrapbooked. Often.
I made cute things.
I had time.
{sigh}
Then other things took over my life and I just wasn't crafty too often anymore.
But lately I've had the urge to get crafty again. So I set out to make something for Thanksgiving.
I have this great Silhouette machine. Well, it doesn't belong to me. It belongs to my church. But it currently resides at my house since I'm the one using it all the time for Children's Ministries. So I decided to try making a pennant banner.
I downloaded the shapes needed. Decided on sizes and started cutting. Nick even decided he'd like to help me. He chose the papers from among my stash. (Remember that scrapbooking I used to do? Yeah, lots of stash here.) :)
And here's what we ended up with ...
Once we hung it up I played around with my new Nikon D7000 and 85mm lens and took these photos.
Here's the unscrunched version of the whole thing. (I had to scrunch the photo to fit in the collage above.)

Nick and I figured out the pattern of the pennants/letters, then he randomly placed the leaves on them. Keira added the leaf brads to the ends of the rope twine. We love it! And it feels good to use up some of my scrapbooking supplies.
Now we're thinking about what fun stuff we can do for Christmas. And maybe we'll actually get it up before Christmas day! :)

Wow! Love it! I am so not super crafty like that, although sometimes I imagine I am!
I've been going a little nuts with Christmas crafts! When you go from ten years of no decorating to deciding to decorate... well a girl needs some decorations! Thank goodness for pinterest. :) I've posted some of what I've done and some of my ideas of what I plan to do today. :)
Oh my gosh I LOVE it!!!!
