I'm feeling a little off my game this week. We had a very gray, rainy week, with some sunshine thrown in the mix. But it has left me a bit uninspired. I need to stop letting the weather dictate my moods, I know. I did manage to round up some photos for the hunt though.
This week's items are Yellow, Getting ready, Bright, Teeny tiny, and Connections.
This week's items are Yellow, Getting ready, Bright, Teeny tiny, and Connections.
{yellow}
Our maple tree leaves aren't usually so colorful when they hit the ground. But I did manage to find this one that was mostly yellow.
{getting ready}
We spent most of the afternoon on Saturday getting ready for Keira's 14th birthday party. YIKES! I can't believe my baby girl, once 6 pounds 5 ounces, is now a 14-year-old! Anyway, I decided to keep things simple and just make cupcakes instead of a cake that would then need decorating. Keira had fun putting the icing on the cupcakes. And we found these music notes at our local cake/candy store.
{bright}
Keira is not only a bright, beautiful young lady, she was also complaining that my reflector was shining the sun right back into her eyes and it was really bright! :) But I wanted some practice with the reflector and I love having the sun behind her because I love that glow from her hair.
{teeny tiny}
The corn tassels, which I just read are the male flower of the corn plant, are teeny tiny. According to ehow, the silk is the female flower. How did I never know that?
{connections}
This is our 16th and last Monarch butterfly of this year. And while it may be a stretch for this prompt, I can't help but feel a connection with each butterfly we raise.
Thanks for stopping by! If you'd like to play along for next week's Scavenger Hunt, these are the items to look for:
- Shadow
- Keys
- Smile
- Unedited
- Spice
Have a great week!

Love the butterfly! So beautiful.
Your teeny tiny is nice too. Love the lighting.
The cupcakes made me hungry, and your bright made me curious. Do you use a reflector often for portraits? Is it hard to position it by yourself? I was considering buying a reflector but wondered if it would be too hard to use by myself!
Happy birthday to Keira!! Those cupcakes look wonderful!
Love your pictures. :) You get the most amazing butterfly ones. And the cupcakes look scrumptious.
These are beautiful. Those cupcakes look divine. I bet they tasted amazing. Great job this week!
I feel like I could lie down in the grass of that first one. Fabulous perspective.
Happy birthday, Keira! She is indeed a bright, beautiful young lady. :-) I love the music note cupcakes.
Your connections picture is stunning. WOW!
Happy birthday to your daughter and what cool cupcakes.
These are great I love teeny tiny and the butterfly. those cupcakes look awesome Happy Birthday to Keira.
Umm... those cupcakes look yummy!
Happy Birthday to your daughter. I have been known to blind some of my subjects with the reflector - but by golly, a photographer has to do what a photographer's gotta do, right? Great set.
